Swan on the Wye

Pale Summer Ale – Swan on the Wye

Colour: Straw.

Hops: Challenger, Summit and Calypso.

Grains: Pale Maris Otter malt.

Availability: July 2020 - cask only.

This delightful pale summer ale was first brewed for the 2016 Beer on the Wye.  Beer on the Wye started about the same time Jimmy Swan moved to Herefordshire, so he's seen it grow in scale and the numerals ratchet up.

Over the years we have had plenty of sightings of swans on our county's wonderful rivers.  A favourite location for spotting swans on the Wye is between Foy and Hole in the Wall where the tiny road runs close to the river.  Let us know if you are drinking a Swan on the Wye whilst watching a swan on the Wye.  The Saracens Head at Symmonds Yat is a perfect spot.

Swan on the Wye is a pale ale, hopped with Challenger and late hopped with Summit and Calypso.  The hops have been selected to deliver light, floral notes, fitting with the feel-good, taste-good summer sensation of this cracking cask ale.  Swan on the Wye isn't shy about its hop character and has been described by a certain landlord as "the perfect summer ale".  Enjoy with a cheese laden ploughman's lunch including some cucumber pickle made to Max's secret recipe.

While we have Swan on the Wye in cask, we can prepare 4, 9, 18 and 36 pint take out packs and polypins.
