Ruffled Feathers, at 3.8%, is an amber session beer brewed with Herefordshire Cascade hops. There are hints of tropical fruit on the aroma and a clean, crisp hop flavour that lingers.
We brewed Ruffled Feathers originally for the 2017 6 Nations Rugby Tournament. We chose to brew a distinctly sessionable ale, hence we settled on 3.8%. With a couple of themes of swans and rugby, we hoped a clever name incorporating both would come in to focus. We brainstormed, and then opened up the ideas pile to Twitter and Facebook. Here’s some of the repeatable name suggestions: Penalety; Down the Line; Ugly Ruckling; Pen Tap. One name rose to the top of the pile: Ruffled Feathers. It's not quite on message in relation to the rugby, but we like it a lot.
Ruffled Feathers has been so popular we have kept it as a permanent line.
