Winter Swanderland

Winter Swanderland

Warming winter ale
Aroma:Raisin, spicey
Hops:First Gold, Endeavour
Grains:Wheat, Crystal, Pale Maris Otter, Chocolate

“A beautiful pint – we’re happy tonight – make mine a Winter Swanderland.”  Our deep ruby-coloured warming winter ale Winter Swanderland owes its darker, characterful colour to the range of grains in the grist.  Crystal and chocolate malts feature in the malt load in addition to Maris Otter.  Endeavour hops from Stocks Farm in Suckley, Worcestershire lend a light blackcurrant aroma.  There is a slight sweetness on the palate and a spicy, rich, mildly chocolatey taste.  These flavour attributes plus a strength of 4.8% deliver the warming characteristics to this seasonal ale.

The name Winter Swanderland came about when Head Brewer Jimmy Swan scribbled “-derland” as a suffix on the brainstormed short-list of names for the ale.

Enjoy Winter Swanderland at the end of a late autumn ramble around glorious Herefordshire.  The Visit Herefordshire site has a great page of ideas for “Roasts and Rambles”.  We’ve explored a lot of the county but always welcome new suggestions for walks, especially where there is a good pub at the end.  If you are coming down off Bromyard Downs stop in at The Queens Arms in Bromyard.  They always look after those drinkers who enjoy a darker pint, and you may find Winter Swanderland, Black Swan, Priory Porter or Ruffled Feathers on tap here.

Bottled Winter Swanderland can be ordered on line, at the brewery shop, or through local farm shops and retailers such as Malvern Cellar.

This beer is a seasonal special so it isn’t available for sale at the moment.

Have a look at the Our Beers page to see the programme for specials in 2022.

Six weeks before a beer is brewed it will be marked ‘Available Soon’ and can be pre-ordered.
