Arm Breaker IPA

Arm Breaker IPA

Quintessential English IPA
Aroma:Spicy, honey
Colour:Deep gold
Hops:Goldings, Pilgrim
Grains:Crystal, Pale Maris Otter, Wheat

For those of you who look for a stronger ale to savour, Arm Breaker IPA at 6.0%, a quintessential English IPA will be just the thing.

This isn’t your American reimagining of an IPA – so you will experience a different hop character and colour to other IPAs that are out there. We have carefully selected a balance of malts to achieve a colour true to a quintessential IPA.  Beers were on average darker in colour back in Empire days than nowadays, with the relative term of a pale(r) ale having a different reference point on the colour scale.  Arm Breaker has a deep golden hue, due to a small amount of Crystal malt in the grist as well as the backbone of Pale Maris Otter malt and wheat.

The Admiral bittering hop is introduced during the early boil, and is beautifully complemented by Goldings, used plentifully in the late boil.  The quantity of hops used in the Arm Breaker recipe means this English IPA has an EBU of 50 which is typical of this beer style.  The grist in the recipe plus the brewing parameters mean that whilst Arm Breaker is bitter, it is entirely balanced.  The honey, spicy aroma as you tip your glass of Arm Breaker ready to sip then leads to a warming, spicy, fruity flavour, and a memorable, quintessential English IPA.

Bottled Arm Breaker can be ordered on line, at the brewery shop, or through local farm shops and retailers such as Wellington Village Stores.
