Racking casks at swan brewery

Following the tough decision that we would close our brewery at the end of our unit lease, that time has now come and we have handed back our keys.  We kept brewing through to the end of the April, with the chance to fit regulars Swan Gold, Ruffled Feathers and Swan Blonde; old favourites Black Swan, Swan Love, Bewick’s Best and Cygneture and brand new beers Swanderlust and Swansong on the brewing schedule.

The brewing kit has many more brews to go as it found a new lease of life at Isle of Eigg Brewery, Yorkshire Dales Brewery, Noble Craft Brewing, Wobbly Brewery and Kings Head Ross.

Speaking of a new lease of life, Jimmy Swan will be taking on the role of Brewing Manager over at Hobsons Brewery in Cleobury Mortimer, South Shropshire.  Hobsons are a well-established family company with a range of quality beers.  They have a particular focus on sustainability and have exciting plans for the future.

Thank you to those who helped us go out with a bang, at our April Tasting Day, our Drink the Brewery Dry May Fridays or by supping those final pints of Swansong on pub bars around the county.

We’ve a few bits of memorabilia left – pump clip badges and labels and we’re giving them away for a donation to our charity pot.

Thank you for your support over the Swan Brewery years – you made the journey worth taking.
