Hand Brewed in the Heart of Herefordshire

Jimmy Swan founded Swan Brewery, in Leominster, Herefordshire in 2015.  A brewer with 30 years’ experience, Jimmy brews by hand in small batches in a 10 barrel brewery, applying his expertise to create the very best ales, following careful selection of raw materials and precisely honed recipes.

The majority of the hops we use are grown in Herefordshire or Worcestershire; the brewing grain is grown in the east of England; a unique strain of yeast is used which is propagated and harvested each time.

Swan Brewery practises environmentally friendly, sustainable brewing and holds a Green Business of the Year Award from the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA).

You’ll find Swan Brewery ales in pubs and clubs in Herefordshire, South Shropshire, Worcestershire and Powys and sometimes further afield when we work with select wholesalers. Talk to your local publican and they might be available in a pub near you. Landlords, landladies and bar managers, we’d love to hear from you too if you’d like to try our beers. We’re open to the public every Friday from 10am to 5pm for our bottled and draught beer take outs, plus an ever growing selection of artisan Herefordshire drinks and other local produce. Our best selling beers are Swan Gold 4.0%, Swan Blonde 3.7% and Ruffled Feathers 3.8% which are usually available all year round, complemented by seasonal specials.

Head Brewer Jimmy Swan is known for his creativity in developing new beers all crafted using only the 4 ingredients of water, malt, hops and yeast. We invite you to come along to our monthly Tasting Days when you could be one of the first to taste a brand new ale. Tasting Days take place on the first Friday of the month, with extended hours. If you consider yourself a beer aficionado, sign up for free for the Swan Brewery Frequent Flyer Club to keep in touch with brewery news and be rewarded with a branded glass; a beer on your birthday and a free pint on Tasting Days.

Think of your favourite beer styles, and imagine them brewed exceptionally well. That’s Swan Brewery ales – hand brewed in the heart of Herefordshire.
