Nearly 50 years ago, the first manned moon landings took place in the Sea of Tranquility. Listening again to the 20th July 1969 recordings, we've now concluded that Neil Armstrong in fact proclaimed, "Swan Small Step for a brewer, Swan Giant Leap for brewing kind." Inspired by these words, we're brewing a pair of moon landings beers with these very names.
Swan Giant Leap is the stronger of our moon landings beers, with the 5.0% ABV also being a parallel of the 50 years of the anniversary. Let your jaw drop open when you hear the names of the hop varieties that we selected for this deep golden ale. Apollo launches the hop character, followed by grapefruit aroma from Comet and citrus notes from Flyer.
Brace yourself for some puns. We're launching Swan Giant Leap at Reet Petite in Leominster on the evening of Friday 10th May from 7pm. There will be space themed playlist, before the main musical event of Alvin and the Angry Barrels, Sick Pins and Drunk in Charge. The tunes and ale will be out of this world and there's sure to be a good atmosphere.
The draught versions of the moon landing beers will be available from 19th June. Please do get in touch to reserve these limited edition ales.
